Colorado Street
(Suicide) Bridge, Pasadena, CA
Current Conclusions: Below the bridge is dull, unless you're jogging or into archery. Nothing tangible has been caught there by us. On top of the bridge is a surprisingly different story.
The Investigations

Below the bridge
The park below and surrounding Suicide Bridge in Pasadena, California is
beautiful, full of walking and running trails, streams, archery ranges,
and
as legend has it, ghosts. These are supposedly the ghosts of the 150+/- people
who ended their lives by jumping off the bridge over the years.
The park itself is sited in the Arroyo Seco ravine, and as a matter of
fact, if you travel through the park far enough north-ish you will run into the
Rose Bowl.
Under the bridge we've found very little evidence of anything besides traffic
noise, homeless people
living in the bushes, sparse wildlife and fitness minded people running
and walking, with dogs and without. Oh, and the occasional horse poop. Ghosts on
the other hand
must be busy doing things other than posing for pictures or
attending EVP sessions.
Having said this, I must qualify it. We have only been there, under the bridge and in the park during daylight hours, and I suspect things pick up under the bridge in the "dead" of night.
Top of the bridge.
We'd never investigated the top side of the bridge before, mostly because
we felt that noise from vehicles on the bridge, adjacent freeway and surrounding
area would ruin the experience,
but I'm happy to say that we're wrong about
that. The top side is fascinating, and more active than I would have
previously believed. We explored the top side with Yussi Paranormal on June 6th
2010, joining them for this event. A word about Yussi's group: Great people,
great mind set, and we were both pleased and honored to spend time with them. On
that note, please know that on the bridge we'll only talk about what our group
experienced, as this was Yussi Paranormal's gig, and we've not asked them what
they experienced except in passing, nor are we privy to their gathered evidence.
To see what they got, the best place to go is their
MySpace page.
What we experienced on the bridge itself (at night) was really hard to put
into words, but I'll try. There were areas which were very heavy, the air or the
general feeling of the areas themselves. What comes to mind is desperation, and
very deep sadness, enough to make the air feel somewhat thick. The EMF meters
were very quiet, and in fact I can't think of a single time they did
anything on the bridge. The Paranormal PX refused to talk (it was talking up a
storm earlier in the day when we were below the bridge, but again, the EMF
meters were mostly silent), but we did catch a couple of photos that were
interesting on the bridge, as well as a couple of EVPs.
The weird stuff.
One of us did get the sense of a lady walking the convex side of the bridge, the
north side heading west. She was in a tattered dress which looked like it had
once been a drape or sheet, (it had had tassels at one time?) a white knit
sweater, and barefoot. She was muttering "Who owns my life! Who runs it! It's
mine. They do, that's who. I'll SHOW them. My patron. Ha!" This was an imprint,
not an active, and I don't think she jumped off the bridge, at least not on the
occasion the imprint was left. The word "patron" was not the Spanish
variant, but the English variant, like a patron of the arts. The sense was
that she had left this imprint after having had her employment as a housekeeper
for a well-to-do family terminated, probably in the late 193o's. However, she
was not JUST a housekeeper, perhaps she was an aspiring painter, musician,
writer or the like, but other than that I don't know how the word "patron" plays
into it. I think she was led on. "Work for me as a housekeeper while
you hone your craft" comes to mind.
If anyone knows what this all means, have something to correct or something
to add, let us know!
team@claranormal.com. Just so you all know, nobody on our team is a real
psychic, but most of us pick up on things that ordinary people do not, though
they can, which are unexplainable and / or irrational at times, so don't
feel like you can't call us on it. We want you to, because we ourselves
take it with a huge grain of salt.
Ok, one person from Yussi's group did come up with something, so I guess I will bring up something that they did. This person, at about the same place we picked up the phantom lady, picked up on a person, probably an imprint, who had jumped off the bridge in about 1997 or so. she thought the name was John Lawson. To the best of my knowledge this person with Yussi's group had no prior knowledge, and neither we nor they confirmed this name, so as I wrote above, if you have anything to add, or know anything about this, write us at team@claranormal.com.

Suicide bridge is accessed via a trail from a park about a
quarter mile down river from the bridge. You park your
vehicle in the park's dirt lot and walk the rest of the way
to the bridge. You'll find people exercising at the park,
running, and walking their dogs on the trails that lead to
the bridge at pretty much any given time during the day,
which makes an investigation a little tricky because it's
easy to pick up human noises there, but hard to know where
these noises come from due to tall vegetation.
The investigation was started at about noon, and only ran a
couple of hours because we all had to get back. We viewed it
largely as a trial run for this location, a first phase, so we could get a
feel for the logistics and baseline noise levels.
The EVP's we did throughout were all pretty much compromised
due to an inability to rule out human causes of noises.

We spent our hours wandering around the areas of the bridge and the arroyo below. Lots of heavy spots. We felt as though tons of weight was on us at different points or that we were being watched. Some parts of it felt very abnormal. When we reached the bottom of the bridge we started to immediately take pictures. Caught one orb which is not all that big of a deal, although daylight orbs are more rare that orbs illuminated by a camera's flash. A true surreal kind of place. Knowing the history of the bridge we began to discuss the drop from all the suicides over the years and you could actually picture where people might of landed to their fate below. Once again this was a trip to see the layout of the bridge and the surrounding area. A second investigation is in a possible pending state. With the blood that has been shed on the ground below and all of the history of years past their most definitely has to be something. We did get one picture of an apparition that appeared to be what looks like a city courier from possibly the 1930s or 1940s. You can even see his small mail sack strapped across his chest. We don't know if that is how city couriers carried their mail sacks, so if anybody has any information on this aspect please do contact us. Other than that photo and possible EVP's we dismissed phase one is complete.

Over the years hundreds of people have taken the short way down!
